Lady Belinda was beautiful of heart
Though her outward appearance gave town folks a start
Her dreams of a suitor had not yet come true
With only internal beauty, what’s a poor hag to do?
So she consulted her Grimoire and found a grand hex
She enchanted a ruby and hung it round her neck
She squealed to the mirror “Why Belinda… You’re hot!”
But her mirror was faulty… to others she was not!
The lesson to garner, so you won’t be alone…
Keep the hope in your heart and not in a stone.

she is so cute and so cool, I love her shoes! How do you mange to write a whole poem too – I am so rubbish a writing.
Thanks Amy… they come to me as I’m sketching…so when I’m done with the illo I pretty much have the poem too!
Wow Roberta -this is a really super illustration and rhyme too – you’re sooo good at this!!
Great illo and a very good poem. It fits well together.

She is cute! I don’t think she needs any magical powers to create a sensation. She is sure to get noticed wherever she goes.
Poor Belinda!… Love the idea and the story. And, of course, Belinda! She’s so cute and sweet!…
Thanks for your comment Roberta, very original & creative idea on this week challenge.
Love her positive attitude with a magic mirror around….Ha…Ha..

Ya gotta watch out for those faulty talismen, eh? Poor Lady Belinda. Perhaps she’ll find a prince who sees her the same way she and her mirror do.
Really lovin’ your characters and poem combos here, Roberta. I do think I see a book in the making?
What an entertaining and TRUE story!
Love Lady Belinda, funny and cute!!
Lady Belinda could teach us all a lesson or two…or three! Fantastic illo and equally brilliant poem to accompany it.
