Illustration Friday ~ Worn
Ellie and Sal were friends from the start
From the moment they met, they were friends of the heart.
Their differences it seemed, served as a reminder
To each other’s flaws they couldn’t be blinder.
Hopscotch at recess, a first kiss at the fair
To Maid of Honor and babies, and now grey in their hair
So when Sal said “I’m coming to stay for awhile.”
Ellie welcomed her gladly ” Gee, I’ve sure missed your smile.”
But Sal’s stay grew long and they started to bicker
To maintain their friendship Ellie helped her pack quicker!
Later on Ellie passed and Sal spoke on that day,
Saying, “Friendships last forever… if you don’t over stay.”
