Art by Committtee ~ Keep an Eye Out

| From Art by Committee |
James Gurney has started his Art by Committee prompts game up again. This time around however, it’s monthly instead of weekly.
The prompt this week was “I should stay here and keep an eye out….” So of course I thought of reclusive, cannibalistic… but kind Auntie Gretchen.
She’s always willing to treat a stranger in town to a home cooked meal. All that she asks in return is that they do a little gardening. You know mow the grass, prune the roses.
We really don’t have much of a problem with loiterers in our town thanks to Gretchen.
It’s just too bad she can’t keep a good gardener. They all seem to leave town without notice….
Hee hee… so where else are you going to take a prompt like that!

“Can you to watch the girls this evening,” she asked. “I really have to finish this work by tomorrow. The deadline has been moved to Friday.”
“Sure, I have some reading I’d like to catch up on,” he replied.
Smiling, “Thanks Honey!”
“Children will not remember you for the material things you provided but for the feeling that you cherished them.” -Richard L Evans
I’m thinking about this one for my next mail out…
in the meantime…. spend some time with the ones you love.

You better watch out… You don’t and you’ll cry
You better not doubt… I’m telling you why…
Santa Flaws is coming to town!
He smells like a fungus. He’s covered with lice.
He spits when he talks… and he’s not very nice.
Santa Flaws is coming to town!
He sneaks in while you’re sleeping
And eats up all the cake
He drinks the beer and kicks the dog
So beware for goodness sake!
You better watch out… You don’t and you’ll cry,
You better not doubt… I’m telling you why… Santa Flaws is coming to town!

It’s always interesting to see the evolution of one’s work. This year I started doing much of my work in digital format and it’s really taken a dramatic change.
For a long time I was resistant to working digitally and yet I find the medium really another true form of painting.
I still use the same knowledge acquired when working in the traditional mediums and lets face it…that undo button can be your best friend!
I am happy…no… obsessed with working digitally and I love, love, love my Wacom!
