Today I am out of school, so my mother is home from work.
I eat breakfast with my mother, get dressed and brush my teeth with my mother, wear my yellow rain boots, not at all like my mother. She scrunches her nose as we get in the car and drive to pick up my Nana. Nana is her mother. #family#girlpower#diversity

If I’ve driven you crazy with my rambling and promotional posts bear with me a bit longer…. you all know how hard this industry is to break into…. that tasty carrot forever dangling in font of the nose. I would just like a little nibble!!

Last year I participated in the ABC Childrens Picture Book Competition Round 4… and what do you think happened?
A hurricane named Ike came right through Houston and knocked the power out, leaving us with no lights, no water, no air conditioning for two and a half weeks. Yep… right in the middle of the competition!! There was no way to promote much less find out what was going on in the outside world!
So this year… I’m back for Round 5 of the competition!
I’ve been chosen to illustrate a scene fromSorry Doesn’t Clean It Upby Wendy Rogalinski. It’s an adorable story about a whirlwind of a boy who blows through rooms leaving a mess in his wake! Talk about a hurricane!!
