Felted Bear ~ Commission

This weekend it was my pleasure to create this Motorcycle Mama Needle Felted bear. When I make one of these, I somehow feel a little attached.

I’ll enjoy her for only a day or two then this little lady goes out the door to her new home!  To see some of my other needle felted sculptures visit my Etsy store:

Happy Birthday Liv

s-presentsAmidst all the beribboned packages  purchased at Toys R Us there will be a few things made from home.  I usually let them have these presents first thing in the morning to ease the wait for the big birthday bash!

The trick was try to find a time to work on them when little eyes weren’t  spying.  There were a few late nights!

Happy Birthday Pud…. the big 4!

Faerie Garden Terrarium

Ingredients:
1 large jar
polymer clay for making mushroom houses
soil
sand
small plants
1 giggly little girl

First we found a very large jar. This one originally held birdseed so I didn’t have to go buy it.

Then we made the houses and Liv’s orange rock out of polymer clay.

Fill the bottom of the jar with sand or gravel for drainage, followed by a layer of soil.

Arrange your houses and then put in the plants. Add any baubles or decor that a faerie might gather.

The result…. one satisfied munchkin and one faerie garden!

New Needle Felted Sculpture~ Beatrice Blue Bird

She’s a handmade, needle felted sculpture with a polymer beak and feet.

She just flew into the shop and is busy making her nest.

That Tree is Smokin!

Here we go again… another one of those wake you up in the middle of the night projects that just won’t go away! What is it, you ask? An incense burner! I’ve seen burners that are trees but they’re always so anthropomorphic. Cute yes… but I wanted a tree that just looked like an old gnarly tree, you might come across on a walk in the woods.

It’s made of polymer clay.
This one I made around a bottle and then removed it after baking. It was pretty fragile in the unfired stage. To finish, it was antiqued, then glazed. It sits over incense cones on a ceramic disc.
I know, pretty random huh?
