A New Purse

I bought it on Ebay. It came like this. A vintage Paragon crewel kit dated 1969. When I opened the box I was surprised and relieved to see how much of the work she had done. She had completed all the embroidery! All that was left was to put it together and embellish it.

Of course I don’t know who she is. I only know she had intended to make this lovely purse and only got so far. But I finished it. I added some jewels and the rose for personal flair. And I will use it. I wonder how she would have completed it?

I will never know. I don’t know who she is or was. But I know she worked hard on it… and I really appreciate that! I love our new purse.

Martha and Me

Look, I’m not sure why… but I think I may be channeling Martha Stewart this week!
I couldn’t focus on my current projects on my desk so I sat down and made a tea cozy! A tea cozy? But it sure keeps that tea nice and warm. Oops, there she is again.
If that wasn’t enough I finished the purse I’ve been working on and made a wallet, cosmetic bag and an eye glass case to match. Perhaps I need help.

Then to top it off I spent Sunday night cooking six dozen potato drop doughnuts. Can you say Intervention! Boy, are they yum! OK, enough it’s back to work!

Drop Doughnut Recipe
1 tsp. baking soda
cooking oil for deep frying
1 tsp. vanilla
2 beaten eggs
1 c. mashed potatoes
1 c. sour cream
3 c. all purpose flour
1/2 c. sugar
1/2 tsp. baking powder

Combine all ingredients in a large bowl. Heat oil in skillet and drop dough by teaspoonfuls. If using a doughnut dropper, then thin the dough mixture with milk until batter flows easily out the bottom. Fry until golden brown on both side and drain on paper towels. Roll in sugar and enjoy!

It’s a good thing!
