Among the things we discovered in Aunt Merribelle’s scrapbook, was an article about a man found living in the town’s underground sewer system.
The article described this man as having a distorted skeletal structure and a severe loss of body hair. His skin had paled from a lack of sunlight, giving him an amphibious glow. Officials were unable to discover the identity of the man, as his communication skills had disintegrated into a series of grunts and whistles, a language it seemed that he shared with his companion, sewer rats.
Why Aunties kept this article is unknown… unrequited love? Perhaps.
I suppose someone has to love the subterranean man. He does look quite sweet, actually. I love that you create whole stories about all your illustrations. Great blog!
